Necessary things

• Your identity verification documents.
• Information and Old documents about your ancestry.

Public documents/official documents/Certificate in which your ancestry’s or old family’ “permanent address（本籍地）” or birthdays, death days and marriage days, especially relationship from the first  generation of immigrant to you,  etc. are listed.

Ex) ID, Passport, Family register, Certificate of Acceptance of birth, Certificate of Acceptance of death, Certificate of Acceptance of Marriage Report, Certificate for these by notary, documents certifying the parent-child relationship.

We will request old family registers that you don’t have for municipalities’ offices in Japan.

Attention

Depending on the remaining conditions of ancient documents or Family registers, we may not discover every ancestry.

The billable period of the family register is 150 years since all registrants were removed. In the previous rule, it was 50 or 80 years.　Family register is managed by every municipality, and even if past the disposal time of family register, some municipalities can request family register. 150 years seems to be long but it is almost sooner than expected.

Only real ancestry. we don’t investigate foster/adoptive ancestors.
